Solana is known for its remarkably low transaction fees — often a fraction of a cent. Use this tool to understand what those fees add up to across many transactions. Purely educational and approximate.
Adjust the inputs below and see results instantly. All values are approximate — actual fees depend on network conditions and priority fees.
Enter your scenario and the results update live below.
E.g. 100 token transfers over a month
1 lamport = 0.000000001 SOL. Typical base fee: 5,000 lamports. Priority fees can add more during peak load.
Enter any SOL price to see a USD estimate. This is not a prediction — use your own research. Solscan shows the current price.
Shown in lamport-equivalent only. Fees on other chains fluctuate hugely — always verify current rates on those networks before drawing conclusions.
Educational only — hypothetical math, not a price prediction or financial advice. Actual Solana fees depend on network conditions, priority fee markets, and the type of transaction. Always verify on-chain.
Understanding the smallest unit of SOL — and why Solana's fee structure was designed this way.
A lamport is the smallest indivisible unit of SOL — similar to how a cent relates to a dollar, except far smaller. One SOL equals exactly 1,000,000,000 lamports (one billion). The name honours Leslie Lamport, a computer scientist whose work on distributed systems underpins much of modern blockchain design.
Solana was engineered for high throughput — targeting thousands of transactions per second. Low, predictable fees are a deliberate design goal. The base fee for most simple transactions is 5,000 lamports (0.000005 SOL). Networks with lower throughput or proof-of-work consensus typically have far higher fees, especially during demand spikes.
During periods of high network demand, users can attach priority fees (also in lamports) to have their transaction processed faster. These are optional and user-set. This estimator lets you adjust the per-transaction fee to reflect different scenarios. Always check current network conditions before submitting a time-sensitive transaction.

The maths is transparent and simple. No hidden assumptions, no price predictions.
How many Solana transactions are you estimating? This could be token transfers, NFT mints, swaps, or any on-chain interaction. Each costs at least one base fee.
The default is 5,000 lamports — Solana's typical base fee for a simple transfer. Complex transactions or priority fees can raise this. The field accepts any positive integer so you can explore different scenarios.
The estimator divides total lamports by 1,000,000,000 to give you the SOL amount. Formula: Total SOL = (transactions × lamports per tx) ÷ 1,000,000,000
If you enter a SOL price, the estimator multiplies: USD = Total SOL × SOL price. This is illustrative only. SOL price fluctuates continuously. Use live data from a reputable source for any real financial decision.
Account creation rent, smart contract execution costs that vary by compute units, failed transaction fees (Solana charges base fee even for failed txs), and network-side fee changes. Always verify on-chain before acting on any estimate.
Every real Solana transaction shows its exact fee in lamports on Solscan. After sending a transaction, check the "Transaction Fee" field to see what was actually charged. That is the ground truth — not this tool.
TrustTails (TAIL) is a Solana SPL token. Understanding Solana's fee structure helps you understand the practical experience of holding and transacting TAIL tokens.

TrustTails is pre-launch and not for sale. If anyone DMs you offering to sell TAIL tokens, claiming a presale, or sharing a "special" contract address, that is a scam. The only official contract address is 4NoNV3jSYLRbUtVWSTK5XdkpuvRzGpMCmfZSBKMuk6Rc. Verify it on Solscan. Never share your seed phrase with anyone. A lamport is the smallest unit of SOL, Solana's native cryptocurrency. The relationship is: 1 SOL = 1,000,000,000 lamports. So one lamport is 0.000000001 SOL. The name honours Leslie Lamport, whose work on distributed systems (including the Paxos algorithm) influenced modern consensus mechanisms. Because fees are measured in lamports, even a 5,000 lamport fee is only 0.000005 SOL — well under a cent at most realistic SOL prices.
It is a rough educational guide, not a precise billing tool. Real Solana fees depend on: (1) the type of transaction and number of instructions, (2) whether you add a priority fee, (3) current network congestion, and (4) the compute units consumed. Simple token transfers are typically around 5,000 lamports. Complex smart contract calls or NFT minting can be higher. Always check Solscan for the actual fee charged on any real transaction you submit.
Several reasons: (1) You or your wallet app may have added a priority fee to jump the queue during busy periods — this is common during token launches or NFT mints. (2) The transaction involved multiple instructions (e.g., a DEX swap), each consuming compute units. (3) Some wallets bundle fees. The base fee of 5,000 lamports is a floor, not a ceiling. Adjust the "fee per transaction" slider in our tool to match whatever you actually paid.
Yes. Solana charges the base transaction fee even when a transaction fails. This is a deliberate design choice to prevent spam (attackers cannot flood the network with free failed transactions). Priority fees, however, are only charged on successful transactions. This estimator does not model failed transaction fees — worth keeping in mind if you send many transactions in volatile conditions where some may fail.
The SOL price you enter is whatever you choose to type. It is not fetched from any live source, it does not represent current market price, and it is certainly not a prediction of future price. The USD estimates produced are hypothetical illustrations only. For the current SOL market price, check a reputable exchange or aggregator such as Solscan or CoinGecko. This is not financial advice.
Yes, as a rough guide. TAIL is a Solana SPL token. Transferring SPL tokens involves one transaction with a few instructions, typically costing around 5,000–20,000 lamports depending on wallet and network conditions. You will also need a small amount of SOL in your wallet to pay fees — TAIL holders cannot pay fees in TAIL. Note that TrustTails is currently pre-launch and TAIL is not yet available to buy or transfer. Once live, always verify actual fees on Solscan.
Account rent is a separate concept from transaction fees. On Solana, storing data on-chain (including creating a new token account to hold a particular SPL token) requires a small SOL deposit to keep the account "rent-exempt." This is a one-time deposit per account and is refundable if the account is closed. This estimator covers transaction fees only — account creation rent is not included. When you first receive a new SPL token, your wallet may prompt you to pay a small rent deposit (typically around 0.002 SOL) for the new token account.
We cannot and do not say that. TrustTails is a small, pre-launch, community-first Solana token. Cryptocurrency carries significant risk, including the possibility of total loss of value. Nothing on this website is financial advice. We present factual on-chain data and educational content only. Always do your own research (DYOR), consult a qualified financial adviser if needed, and only risk what you can afford to lose entirely.
